Ways to Get into Sydney from Sydney Airport
Catch the train from Sydney Airport to the City
The easiest and fastest way to travel from Sydney Airport to the CBD is by train. At great expense this option was built and is aptly named Airport Link. The train stops at both the domestic airport and the international airport before whisking you into the city. The journey takes about 13 minutes with services being frequent and running from 5am until midnight. One-way and return tickets can be purchased at the train station. Alternatively, you can use an Opal card – Sydney’s transport card that is valid on trains, buses, ferries and the light rail in Sydney.

Get a bus to Mascot station from Sydney Airport
Unfortunately, there is no direct public bus from Sydney’s airport into the CBD. There are several bus routes that connect Sydney’s suburbs with the airport. Suburbs include Bondi Junction, Coogee, Maroubra, Eastgardens, Mascot, Rockdale, Bexley North, Campsie and Burwood.
420 Bus Route
There is the 420 bus service that operates between Mascot and Burwood, suburbs of Sydney that stops at both Sydney Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal. You can take this bus from Sydney Airport to either Mascot or Burwood and connect to the City via train.
350 Bus Route
There is also route 350 bus services run between the Domestic Terminal and Bondi Junction via Mascot, Maroubra and Coogee. This operates around every 10 minutes during the day, seven days a week.

Take a Taxi from Sydney Airport to the City
There are taxi ranks in front of all terminals at Sydney Airport. You don’t need to pre-book a taxi, you can simply join the (often fast-moving) line. Taxis are metred, so there is no need to negotiate a price.
A taxi from Sydney Airport takes around 20-25 minutes to reach the City in light traffic. Expect to pay around $45-$55 for a one-way trip, with the cost depending on traffic and your destination.
