Now is the time to book flights with your unused Virgin Australia travel credits.
If you have unused Virgin Australia travel credits issued during the COVID pandemic, you are urged to check your account, with an expiry date now officially set.
A recent announcement shared via its app, Virgin revealed that all eligible credits must be used before the deadline. According to the national carrier, all flight credits issued between 21 April 2020 and 31 July 2022 must be redeemed before 30 June 2026. Any flights booked using those credits can now be taken up to 27 May 2027.
How to Check and Redeem Your Travel Credit/s
There is currently an estimated $93 million worth of travel credits yet to be claimed by customers. To find out if any credits belong to you, and how to use them before they expire follow these steps.
- log in to your Virgin Australia Travel Bank account
- View credit balance.
- Search for flights you’d like to book via Virgin’s website.
- Book flight/s with the credit by selecting Travel Bank as your payment method.
- Receive flight confirmation.
Any issues contact Virgin Australia on 136789 for assistance.
What about Jetstar and Qantas?
When it comes to Australia’s other major airlines, Qantas and Jetstar, COVID flight credits are treated differently. Unlike Virgin, eligible credits issued during the pandemic do not expire. However, it is advisable to use them. Who knows, your next holiday could be closer (and cheaper) than you think!
If wanting to check your eligibility do so via each airline’s website.
