If you are travelling around Australia without your own accommodation, and wanting to pick up a job, you may want to get jobs in Australia with accommodation. These are particularly great for working holiday makers to Australia, but also for locals who are travelling their own country. So if you are worried about your budget, well there are some great opportunities out there that not only provide employment but also include the added perk of accommodation. Here are 9 jobs in Australia with accommodation included, that don’t always need experience.

Jobs in Australia With Accommodation

1. Live-in Au Pair, Mother’s Help and Nanny Jobs

When I first moved to London on a UK working holiday visa, I got a job as a live-in Mother’s Help. If you are wondering what a mother’s help is well, it is someone who is there to help the mum. You are somewhere in between an Au Pair and a qualified nanny. You help the mother with jobs such as looking after any children, doing light housework and maybe cooking some meals. The best things about this type of work was I didn’t need any experience and the job was live-in. So because the job was live-in, this took care of finding a job and somewhere to live in the one hit. Now on my return to Australia, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that live-in child care jobs are available. You may or may not need some sort of child care qualification but you will need a Working With Children Check (WWC). Jobs are for varying lengths and the best way to get such as job is usually through an agency: Google nanny agencies in Australia – but here are some I found:

2. Hostel & Hotel with Accommodation

As you travel around Australia you will need somewhere to sleep every night. Your choice of accommodation available can include a bed in a hostel or hotel or you might be towing it and living in it. But if you stay in accommodation each night you will have someone checking you in, cleaning your room and other areas and maybe serving you breakfast. Many of these people are actually travellers themselves and are either working for the accommodation for a wage or have agreed to exchange work for accommodation because they might not have a visa allowing them to work. And many of these jobs in hostels and hotels often don’t need any qualifications or prior experience. So if you are looking for a job in Australia with accommodation, even jobs for couples in Australia with accommodation, consider asking where you are staying for the night if any jobs are going.

3. TrustedHousesitters – House and Pet Sitting with Accommodation

One of the biggest expenses while traveling is the cost of accommodation. What would you say if I said you can travel the world for free by simply house and pet sitting. Some people treat house and pet sitting as jobs abroad with accommodation but in most cases, you don’t get paid, though I have heard of some people who do receive a small stipend as well as the accommodation. So a housesitter basically looks after a house while the resident is away. They may need to look after a pet, water the plants and put the rubbish bins out. Many countries are embracing housesitting including the USA, UK, Australia and many in Europe. One of the best ways to find a housesitting job is through an agency such as TrustedHousesitters.

4. Caravan Park Jobs with Accommodation

Australia has many caravan parks enabling people to camp or park up their van for a night or more. To ensure the caravan park runs smoothly staff are required to ensure this. Jobs can be cleaning the ablutions block to the on-site vans, doing general maintenance around the park and working in the office, taking reservations and checking in and out visitors. Many people who work in caravan parks are often travellers. Depending on the caravan park and whether or not you have your own accommodation with you, the caravan park may offer accommodation to attract you to work for them.

Some of the big caravan park chains have information on their sites. Check out

5. Working on a Yacht

Do you love being on the water? Well if you do, consider getting a job on a yacht. Working on a yacht as a first mate, chef, stewardess, yoga instructor or even a scuba diving instructor is a very cool experience while working in Australia. Who wouldn’t want to spend their days sailing around the Whitsundays, Great Barrier Reef or even Sydney Harbour. While sailing, your accommodation will be included, but you may need a base when on the land – unless your employer will allow you to live aboard the boat while docked.

6. Seasonal Summer Jobs in Australia with Accommodation

There are many summer seasonal jobs the working traveller can get. Perhaps a job picking fruit and vegetables in Australia where fruit picking jobs with accommodation can be found. Maybe working in a bar or a cafe by the beach or remote location. Many service stations require staff as do outback pubs to service the people as they travel Australia and stop at different locations. Or pick up other hospitality jobs which increase during the summer months. You could even get a job with accommodation at some of Australia’s resorts because they are remote. Such as on some of the islands in the Great Barrier Reef, or in Uluru or Kakadu! How cool would it be to work here!

7. Seasonal Winter Jobs in Australia with Accommodation

If you love the cold weather and particularly the snow, you might consider working a season in an Australian ski resort. Jobs abound in ski resorts as large numbers of staff are required to ensure all the services of the resort are met. From hospitality jobs to ski instructor jobs, all these jobs must be filled. As well as a wage many of these jobs come with accommodation included. Australian ski resorts can be found in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.

8. Picking Fruit and Vegetables in Australia

Australia has a well established harvest trail. You can easily work your way around Australia picking fruit and vegetables non-stop, and many do. Some growers provide accommodation to entice workers to help them pick and sort their crops. In far North Queensland there are many backpacker hostels that work in conjunction with farmers by providing accommodation and transport to and from the farm. Most of the accommodation is basic or you may have your own that you can park up.

WWOOF stands for Willing Workers on Organic Farms and is a world-wide organisation. And you don’t need experience to WWOOF, you only need a willingness to work and learn. To WWOOF, you will need to join WWOOF Australia, and then you will be able to contact WWOOF hosts and travel Australia with jobs with accommodation.
